Smart-casual Italian restaurant and bar by restaurateur Beppe De Vito.
The Food: Amo’s menu focuses on Neapolitan style wood-fired pizzas and large sharing plates, including the classic Romana pizza ($22), topped with fiordilatte mozzarella, anchovies, capers, tomato and oregano; and signature pizzas which features a thin chewy crust, such as the unique Bone Marrow, Wild Garlic Pesto & Anchovy Salsa Verde ($29) and Mushroom, Truffle, Mascarpone & Tuscan Pecorino ($32). You will also spot a series of wood-fired grills and homemade pastas that serves two, like the Butter-Roasted Golden Chicken with Grilled Corn Custard ($58), Grilled Seabass with Spring Vegetables & Mint Casserole ($58), and the impressive looking Spaghettoni with an entire Boston Lobster & Tarragon ($78).
If you’re looking for something to share for a smaller group, we recommend the tender Crispy Calamari with Sumac & Sundried Tomato Aioli ($22) antipasti, Grilled Octopus with Friggitelli Peppers & Calabrian Chilli Vinaigrette ($35), and Riccota Cheese Castagnole with Moscato Sabayon ($15) dessert.
The Space: Set in an easy stylish 90-seater restaurant interior done in light industrial style, retains charming elements like the exposed brick walls and vintage mosaic floor tiles from the original 1950s Hong Kong Street shophouse building, the spacious Amò also features an alfresco courtyard, an open-concept kitchen and an in-house wood-fire oven responsible for churning out a multitude of smokey pizzas and mains.
