Japanese food joint offering an affordable range of Japanese rice bowls and sushi rolls for under $10, right out of a Toa Payoh neighbourhood coffee shop. By the folks behind Tenryu Japanese Dining, the highlights at Donya include the value-for-money Unagi Tama Don ($8.80), and the Salmon Mentai Don ($8.80) that comes topped in a thick layer of torched mentaiko cream on the fried salmon, as well as a line up of maki rolls that Tenryu is known for, like the Mentai Maki ($5.80), a maki roll version of the Salmon Mentai Don with slices of avocado and cucumber, and the California Roll inspired signature Donya Maki roll ($5.80), that’s see aburi (torched) salmon drizzled in a rich, savoury tama-miso sauce.
