Gourmet hotdog joint by German restaurant chain Brotzeit, operating right out of a 150 sq ft retrofitted mobile shipping container at vibrant Marina Boulevard. The hotdogs at the open-concept Frank are inspired by a fusion of cuisines blending ingredients like basil, kimchi, ginger leaves and Gruyere cheese paired on an assortment of buns. Buns are an often overlooked element of great hotdogs but not at Frank, as they range from the pretzel bun used for Nurnberger Dog ($10) and the baguette in the French Dog ($9), to Salted Egg Frank ($15), which is a locally-inspired deep-fried ‘bao’ bun topped with crispy batter-fried squid sausage and a rich spiced salted egg sauce with curry leaves.
Other regional and local elements also appear in the K-dog ($11), topped with a Kurobuta pork sausage, kimchi, Korean sweet-spicy glaze and spring onions served on Asian bun, as well as Satay Chicken Sausage ($7), a snack served with a side of rich Java style peanut (satay) sauce.
During dinner, check out the Curry Dog & Beer ($15) special, consisting of a combination of curry ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut and crispy bacon topped over pork sausage in a white roll, with a Lowenbrau ($8/$10/$55) lager beer in hand to complete the FRANK experience. Frank is a self-service concept and all prices you see are nett prices.
