The only Fugu specialist restaurant in Singapore and the first international outlet from Japan’s largest Fugu restaurant chain, Guenpin, serving premium grade Tora Fugu (tiger puffer fish) prepared by highly skilled and licensed chefs. The Tora Fugu, recognized as the highest grade out of 22 kinds of puffer fish that are permitted for consumption, is served in a variety of styles such as the Tessa (thin sliced sashimi), Tecchri (hotpot), Hirezake (Sake with baked puffer fish fin), Sushi and BBQ. With over 90 outlets in Japan, most of Guenpin’s Tora-Fugu is air-flown from Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi prefecture, nicknamed the “Fugu Capital” of Japan.
Besides puffer fish, Guenpin also offers snow crab presented in various styles, as well as a selection of Japanese rice bowls and set lunch. Japanese Sake is served too.
