An intimate 38-seater tapas bar located off a nondescript alley that is Gemmill Lane, serving exquisite grilled dishes influenced by French-Japanese cuisine, as well as an array of creative specialty cocktails by Sugar Ray Ruban. Helmed by Chef Jeremy Chiam and Chef Atsuhiko Hagiwara, Le Binchotan dishes out an array of intriguing and unconventional sharing plates such as shaven foie gras, smoked sea bream (Madai), Iberico pork jowl with katsu curry, and dessert Smoked Chocolate, right out from the chic narrow izakaya.

At the heart of Le Binchotan is bincho-tan, a type of oak charcoal traditionally used in Japanese cooking which burns at a lower termperature than ordinary charcoal but for a longer period without the unpleasant charcoal odours.
