A somewhat off-the-radar seafood Zi Char joint tucked away at a Woodlands industrial park food court, specializing in Singapore and Malaysian-style zi char at affordable prices. Malu Malu’s menu ranges from fresh seafood dishes such as Chilli Crab, Nyonya Fish Head and Pumpkin Prawns, to a unique variety of soups, fried omelettes, bean curd dishes, stir-fried meat and vegetables, complete with a huge selection of noodle and rice dishes.
Try Malu-Malu’s specialty Pui Pui Noodles ($5 to $15), also known as “Dai Lok Mee”, a popular style of KL Hokkien noodles which sees thick yellow noodles braised in a dark soy sauce with ingredients like pork, prawns, slices of fish cake and cubes of crispy deep-fried pork lard, or go for the Signature Fried Vermicelli ($5 to $15), a Malu Malu’s rendition of the ‘Chao Ta’ Bee Hoon dish that resembles a giant fried omelette, filled with chicken, prawns, squid, slices of fish cake and bean sprouts within the mix of smoky egg and crispy moist bee hoon. Other highlights include favourites like Fried Mee Sua ($5 to $15), the off-menu La La Bee Hoon ($6), Garlic Fried Pork Belly ($18) or the Thai-style barbecued Squid ($14).
