Yakitori specialty restaurant offering charcoal grill skewers along with a range of Japanese cuisine in an authentic Japanese izakaya atmosphere. OmoteNashi’s series of yakitori includes the signature Gosso Dama ($7.80), two skewers of soft, succulent Bincho-tan charcoal grilled medium-done white chicken liver wrapped in crispy pork crépine that’s best eaten within 40 seconds, yakitori classic Tsukune ($7 for 2 skewers), which comes with molten cheese within the chicken meatball skewer, as well as unique skewers such as Stuffed Shiitake Mushroom ($7 for 2), and Rice Cake wrapped with Pork Belly ($6 for 2), on top of other classic grilled skewers, best paired with Japanese sake and beer.

A few other highlights from OmoteNashi’s menu that also covers Japanese appetizers, salads, small plates and rice dishes, are Tsukimi Tsukune ($12.90), a patty form of the Tsukene chicken meatball, topped with a fresh egg yolk, and the Chicken Nanban ($12.90), a dish of egg-battered, deep-fried marinated chicken topped with house-made sweet, tangy nanban sauce (a Japanese-style tartar sauce with hard boiled egg bits), also available as the Chicken Nanban Don ($12.90) in OmoteNashi’s popular lunch menu that comes with a small side salad and miso soup. If you’re a fan of the nanban sauce, check out Curry & Nanban Don ($15).
