The crowd-favourite bak chor mee (肉脞面, from $3.50) noodle variety includes mee sua (wheat vermicelli noodle) and mee kia (thin egg noodle), featuring additional ingredients such as braised mushrooms and braised pork ribs. Apart from the Original Pork Bun ($3.50), Seng Huat’s series of UFO buns (太空包) are well-received too. Try the Butter Kaya Bun ($1.20) with your soft-boiled eggs and kopi or teh.
Both coffee shops also offer fishball noodles, chicken and roasted pork rice, Hainanese curry rice, as well as local ‘mixed’ rice and ‘economical’ beehoon.
