Local family-run microbrewery & restaurant (gastropub) housed in a cosy two storey Jalan Besar shophouse serving western cuisine with local flavors and beer-inspired dishes. Other than the four 600-litres beer tanks producing a selection of locally handcrafted beer, the culinary highlight at The 1925 is the incorporation of the family’s Teochew roots in their dishes, such as the inclusion of dried sole fish for the rempah used in Chilli Crab Ravioli, as well as the usage of Teochew bean sauce in Smoked Duck Fettuccine. You will discover that The 1925’s brewing process also often works its way into the recipes, for instance, the handmade pastas are made using the same grains which they used to brew their beer, and the special beer reduction glazes that are used for the grilled meat.
