The food: Gaig’s menu consists of classic Catalan dishes and a series of tapas that Barcelona is so well known for. Some highlights are Shrimp “All-i-Pebre” ($25), a traditional Catalan stew made with almond, paprika & garlic; Pig Trotter Catalan style with Turnips ($16); Catalan-style Oven-roasted Suckling Pig ($24.50); Seafood Paella with calamari, shrimps & sea urchin ($34); Presa Iberica (pork) & Mushroom Paella ($27); as well as the refreshing Orange Ice Cream Souffle ($10.20) dessert. Don’t miss Chef Gaig’s famous traditional savoury cannelloni ($12), one of the star dishes that has been on the menu since he started the restaurant in Barcelona, using a recipe from 1869.
Try the value-for-money set lunch menu that starts at $38 where you get to three tapas and a main course. Choose from a a selection of Patatas Bravas, cannelloni (+$3), Jamon Iberico Joselito with bread (+$5) with Charcoal-grilled Presa Iberica (pork) with Pineapple or the Seafood Fideua, a noodle version of the paella.
