One of the most popular Nasi Lemak stall in Singapore, reputed to be a personal favourite of the Sultan of Brunei as well as the part of Indonesia President Joko Widodo’s hosted breakfast at the Istana back in 2014.
Widely known as the “Adam Road Nasi Lemak” or “Nasi Lemak Jokowi” to some, Selera Rasa offers a range of prix fixe nasi lemak sets starting at $2.90 for the Regular Meal, $4.90 for the Full House and $5.90 for the Royal Rumble, with all sets featuring fluffy and fragrant coconut basmati long grained rice with their signature sweet-spicy sambal chilli, served next to different combinations of items.
The most coveted item is probably the freshly fried, crispy, succulent deep-fried chicken wings that are marinated overnight in Selera Rasa’s family recipe. If you have stood in line for more than 30 minutes, you should at least go for the Royal Flush ($5.40) that comes with Otah-otah (spicy mackerel fish cake wrapped in banana leaf), and the crowd-favourite begedil (deep-fried potato patty) on top of fried egg, ikan bilis, and slices of cucumber.
While there’s another stall at Ang Mo Kio, you can also find Selera Rasa’s nasi lemak along with teh tarik at their sister cafe chain, Crave.
