Japanese yakitori joint tucked in a cozy CBD shophouse along Circular Road offering authentic Japanese skewers next to a selection of appetizers and fried snacks.
In addition to Yatagarasu’s signature yakitori variety that includes chicken parts (at $2.50 each) like thigh, liver, heart, skin, soft bone and tsukune ($4), look out for the assortment of unique Wrapped Pork Belly skewers where stripes of pork belly are wrapped around enoki mushroom ($3.50), shiso leaf ($3.50), yakisoba (fried noodles, $6) and even curry rice ($6)! The latter comprises of a ball of Japanese rice wrapped in pork belly stripes, topped with curry, chopping pickles and spring onions. Meanwhile, Yatagarasu’s style of yakitori are mainly seasoned with salt and pepper, instead of tare sauce.
Elsewhere on the menu are appetizers such as Dashimaki Tamago (Japanese rolled omelet, $6), Octopus Sashimi ($13), Shirasu (white bait) wth Radish ($8), and fried Lotus Root Chips ($9). The series of chicken appetizers consist of some interesting pairing in Spicy Gizzard ($8), chicken Soft Bone with Plum ($8) and crispy chicken Skin with Ponzu ($8).
